A significant new partnership between the Fiji Museum and EXPLORE Fiji has been formally announced, marking a shared commitment to elevate culture as a cornerstone of national identity and the visitor experience.
As Legacy Cultural Partner for 2025, the Fiji Museum will work closely with EXPLORE Fiji on a year-long collaboration that includes digital storytelling, editorial features, cultural event support, and shared promotional campaigns. The goal: to spotlight the richness of Fijian heritage and make cultural knowledge more accessible to audiences in Fiji and around the world.
EXPLORE Fiji is a digital platform offering original stories, features, listings, and events from across Fiji’s tourism, hospitality, MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise), and creative sectors. It connects communities and travellers through authentic, locally grounded storytelling that celebrates Fiji’s diverse experiences and deep cultural roots.
Fiji Museum CEO Andy Lowe says the partnership aligns with the Museum’s mission to expand its impact and reach more people across Fiji and beyond:
“The Fiji Museum is thrilled to be partnering with EXPLORE Fiji, and we really look forward to sharing our work with the world. We recognise that the best way to truly extend our reach, to engage a much wider audience and engage our community with the exciting work we are doing, is through strategic partnerships of this kind.”
Connie Chew, Owner and Publisher of EXPLORE Fiji, echoes this vision:
“This is about more than showcasing culture – it’s about connecting people to it. We’re honouring the cultural threads that weave through daily life in Fiji – from art and architecture to language, customs, and food – and sharing those stories in new, inclusive ways.”
“As a platform, EXPLORE Fiji is committed to cultural storytelling. Partnering with the Museum affirms that commitment and helps ensure the stories we tell are accurate, ethical, and locally grounded. There’s real power in knowing your story – and even more in sharing it.”
The Fiji Museum, based in Suva, is Fiji’s leading cultural institution with a collection of over 10,000 artefacts, artworks, and records. Its exhibitions, education programs, and community engagement initiatives play a vital role in preserving and sharing the country’s rich heritage.
The first wave of content launches this June, offering exclusive cultural features and behind-the-scenes access to inspire and inform both locals and international travellers.
