Cash payments will no longer be accepted onboard South Sea Cruises vessels for ticket purchases by inbound and/or inter-island passengers, as well as items purchased from its kiosks including food and beverage.
The new policy is effective from November 15th 2024.
Passengers will be able to pay with the following payment methods:
- Local Bank / ATM Cards
- Visa, MasterCard, American Express (Amex), UnionPay credit or debit cards
- Mobile Wallets – Vodafone MPAISA & Digicel MYCASH
- Windcave online payment
A South Sea Cruises statement reassures that “with Starlink technology now onboard our vessels we expect all electronic transactions to work without issue.”
Cash will still be accepted at South Sea Cruises’ Port Denarau Terminal check-in counter.
Inbound freight requires pre-approval
Inbound freight to Port Denarau will require pre-approval to be carried onboard by contacting South Sea Cruises’ on-duty operations supervisor on mobile numbers: 9924756 or 9995472.
The pre-approval arrangement is applicable to island resorts only with all other inbound freight services being discontinued. Inbound laundry services will not be affected by this policy change and will continue to operate. All outbound freight from Port Denarau will continue as per current processes and is unaffected by the change.
